Romania is ready to face Denmark

By Karina Wulff Harrestrup
The Romanian team arrived in Aarhus yesterday and they’re ready to face Denmark tonight. They spirit full girls left Hotel Marina in Vedbæk at 9 a.m. Monday, and about four hours later they were in Aarhus. After their arrival they went to Arenaen in Aarhus to check out the conditions.

They trained for about 1½ hour and they concentrated on their fast breaks and shots from the back players. Two dangerous Romanian weapons - as well as their quick wings, Cristina Varzaru and Alina Dobrin.

Varzaru is ready for tonight’s match:

“The game against Denmark is very important. We come with two point and we’ve won two games in the first round. We just hope that we can continue to fight the way we have done in the first games”.

The Danish audience doesn’t scare the quick wing:

“I have seen the matches on video and surely the Danes support their team very well. But we know there will be many people and for us it isn’t really important”, says the 23-year-old player.

Carmen Amariei is confident that it will be a good game tonight:

“We want to win and we want to go on to the next round. We will have to fight hard to win, but there are 60 minutes in a game and we have to be ready the entire match”, says Amariei.
