Norwegian speaker walks
to Århus
By Thomas Berndt
'If Katja Nyberg scores on the free-throw, then I will walk
to Århus'. Quote speaker for Norwegian TV 2, Harald Bredeli.
Unfortunately for Bredeli, but fortunately for Norway, Nyberg's
free-throw went into the goal thanks to a fumbling Hungarian goalkeeper
and after the match a lot of reporters and photographers gathered
around Bredeli to learn if he would live up to his promise.
'I don't know in which direction I can find the ferry but I will
just have to feel my way, said the speaker afterwards. However,
he had received a few pointers as to how he could get there. Furthermore,
the injured Norwegian star player, Kjersti Grini, offered him a
pair of running shoes.
But he should probably start walking now because even if he does
go by ferry, it is a walk of 118 kilometres. However, in true American
manner Bredeli has an excuse ready.
'In my opinion it was an own goal and I would only walk if Katja
scored,' the speaker argues with a slight grin on his face.
