Today the president of the Danish Handball Federation Søren Høg Thomsen celebrated his 55th birthday.

It is not the first time that the front person of Danish handball celebrates his birthday during a large handball tournament.
'I'm used to celebrating my birthday during the final rounds of the big handball tournaments. They usually take place in December, so it's not new to me. However, I'm pleased that so many people congratulate me on my birthday', Søren Høg Thomsen says with a smile hinting at this morning when he received a big gingerbread man.

There is no doubt in Søren Høg Thomsen's mind, when it comes to his greatest birthday wish.
'Two points for Denmark. That would be my greatest birthday gift', says the 55-year-old birthday boy.

If Denmark beats Austria the Danish girls will be ready for the semi finals and that is exactly what Søren Høg Thomsen hopes for.

In connection with tonight's first match the Swedish president of EHF, Staffan Holmquist will present Søren Høg Thomsen with a large bouquet of flowers.
